Officers from the National Police arrested a man who was caught trying to steal a moped.
Although the opening statement may not seem too worthy of note, the attempted theft occurred at the doors of the Jerez Investigative Courts, minutes after the man had been released with charges pending as the alleged perpetrator. of three robberies in businesses in the city.
In fact, the arrest was carried out by the same officers who had just released him from the holding cell, where he had been since the day before, just 4 minutes after they had liberated him.
As explained by the National Police, the detainee had left the judicial building minutes before as provisional release and awaiting trial, after having been placed at the disposal of the head of the Court of Instruction from the Jerez Police Station, where he had spent the afternoon and night of the previous day.
He had been arrested by investigators from the National Police as the alleged perpetrator of three robberies with force in food stores located in the Picadueña Alta neighbourhood, committed during the nights of August 11, 15 and 16 and in which the author it would have been introduced into the stores through the air conditioning ducts.
As indicated by the Police, it turns out that it was the same agents who minutes before had executed the release of the accused from the cells area of the judicial headquarters by order of the Judge, who surprised him just four minutes later, when he had already broken into a moped parked right in front of the façade of the judicial headquarters building. Given the observed events, they proceeded to arrest him again as allegedly responsible for a new crime of robbery with force.
The agents located the owner of the affected vehicle, a worker from a service company collaborating with the Justice administration, who was carrying out procedures within the same judicial headquarters, to inform him of what happened and to take charge of the moped.
The detainee, who has an extensive criminal history, was transferred again to the Jerez Police Station, where he was again placed in cells until he was again placed at the disposal of the Investigating Court for these events.
