Fast food and burger chain McDonald’s has opened their 600th restaurant in Spain this week, opening the doors to their new restaurant in the city of Granada. The new establishment is located in the old town of the city, has an area of 336 square metres and a capacity of 90 guests.

The restaurant has the design and decoration of the McDonald’s in Times Square in New York, a feature that very few restaurants in Spain have. Likewise, it has digital kiosks, table service, and completes its service offering with McDelivery.

With this inauguration, McDonald’s once again boosts employment in the town with the creation of 50 new jobs. Throughout the province of Granada, the brand already has 10 restaurants that employ more than 420 people.

Meanwhile, sports outlet JD continues its expansion in Spain and now has 100 stores. Specifically, it opened store number 100 in the Gala shopping centre in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

The new point of sale, of 1,100 square metres, for now, the largest in the Canary Islands, has generated the creation of 31 new jobs. The store stands as a new showcase for the latest trends and models from brands such as Nike, Adidas, New Balance and Vans.

Gabriele Bocci, JD’s expansion director, emphasizes that “the opening of our 100th store in the Gala shopping centre in Tenerife not only highlights our commitment to the Spanish customer, but also to the European customer, by consolidating and reinforce our strategy of being the reference brand in terms of urban fashion in Europe. Since we landed in Spain in 2011, we were clear that Spain was going to become one of our main points of sale.
