The First Section of the Provincial Court on the Balearic Islands is holding the trial this Wednesday against a man accused of trying to stab his uncle to death in Sa Pobla (Mallorca).
The Prosecutor requests that the man be sentenced to 11 years in prison for attempted murder and a restraining order for 20 years. The Public Ministry also demands compensation of 148,975 euro for the heirs of the victim, who died in January 2022 for reasons unrelated to the case.
The events date back to May 2021 when one afternoon, while he was at his uncle’s home, he approached him brandishing a knife and, for no apparent reason, began stabbing him in the head, neck and shoulders, until the victim’s screams alerted relatives.
The brutal attack led to 140 days of convalescence, 90 of them in very serious condition, and caused physical and aesthetic consequences.
