The Valencia Court will hear evidence from today, Tuesday, against a man accused of robbing and trying to kill another man on February 5, 2020, in a home in Torrent.

The Prosecutor’s Office maintains that the defendant and a minor entered the house where the events occurred on the 2nd of the same month, a house owned by the victim’s wife that was for sale.

Three days later, when the defendant and the minor were having breakfast in the living room of the house, the owner’s husband entered the house, reproached them for their presence and demanded that they leave.

According to the public accusation, the defendant grabbed the victim from behind, put his arm around his neck and squeezed, until the man felt a strong sensation of suffocation. When the victim fell to the ground, the minor took the opportunity to kick him and steal his cell phone.

The accused then stabbed the victim with a kitchen knife in the chest. The weapon hit the wallet that the victim was carrying in his jacket pocket, breaking the blade of the knife, preventing injury.

The man, who suffered injuries that took a month to heal, was helped by staff from the real estate company with which he was managing the sale of the house. The Prosecutor’s Office requests that the defendant receive a prison sentence of eleven years for the crimes of robbery and attempted homicide.
