Officers from the National Police arrested an 18-year-old man as allegedly responsible for a crime of public disorder, after spreading a false bomb threat on a Valencia EMT bus through a digital platform. This alert caused the interruption of the affected line and the evacuation for the safety of passengers.
The investigation began last Tuesday, when agents from the Provincial Information Brigade learned that a person had threatened to detonate a bomb on an EMT bus, as reported by the National Police in a statement.
This situation caused the interruption of the affected line and the evacuation of passengers until “the pertinent security checks”, which determined that it was a false alarm.
After the investigations, the agents have found out that the threat had been made through a digital platform used for the live broadcast of video games, in which the alleged author, taking advantage of the anonymity provided by the profile, had posted various publications on which “praised terrorism” and made threats against various public transport networks.
Thanks to the mechanisms of international police collaboration, through the General Information Commissioner’s Office, an “immediate response” was achieved by the agents, with the consequent “rapid” identification and location of the suspect.
The young man was arrested in the city of Valencia and was handed over to the judicial authority as allegedly responsible for a crime of public disorder.
