Water cuts

The Autonomous City of Melilla will cut off the water supply for 18 hours between Tuesday and Wednesday due to work to improve the distribution network, an incident that will affect practically the entire population, except residents in three neighbourhoods that have independent systems.

In a press release, the Ministry of Environment and Nature has reported that this water cut will take place from 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 17, until 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, the 18th, which adds up to a total 18 hours.

The three neighbourhoods where you will not notice this water cut are Barrio de la Victoria, Carretera de Farhana and Cañada de Hidum, whose water distribution systems are independent, although the rest of Melilla’s home supply will be affected by this new restriction.

The Ministry of the Environment justifies the need to adopt this measure to make an important connection from the old main distribution network to the new one at the meeting of calles García Cabrelles and Comisario Valero, where the two are also being connected with new sanitation pipes made on the remodelled road.
