The trial against a man accused of allegedly abusing his partner’s youngest daughter continuously, when the minor was between seven and nine years old, begins today, Tuesday, in the First Section of the Provincial Court of Cantabria.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the accused, with the intention of satisfying his libidinous impulses, touched the minor several times on the buttocks and breasts.

On one occasion, he also pushed her against a shelf while making pelvic movements, the Public Ministry explains in its indictment.

The events, which have not been specifically dated, were reported by the minor years later to her school tutor. As a consequence, the Prosecutor’s Office explained that the minor presents anxiety and a depressive state.

For all these reasons, it considers the accused the perpetrator of a continued crime of sexual assault worthy of a sentence of five years in prison and six years of disqualification from working with minors.

In addition, the prosecutor requests that he be ordered to pay compensation of 12,000 euro for the moral damages suffered by the minor.

The private accusation adds to the sentence requested by the Prosecutor’s Office, and also requests the imposition of a measure of supervised release after release from prison for eight years.

Finally, the defence of the accused states in his brief that he never had any contact with the minor, that they were rarely alone and that he spent the day working, so when he returned home his partner was usually already there.
