Choreographic Contest starts in Madrid
The Condeduque Contemporary Culture Centre will host from Tuesday, November 28 to Sunday, December 3, the 37th edition of the Madrid Choreographic Contest under the motto Expanding movement, in which twelve projects will compete.
The selected pieces by choreographers from different parts of Spain will be presented at the Condeduque Theatre and are eligible for more than 30 prizes including cash awards, residencies, accompaniment of creation processes or national and international scholarships.
During the Contest, shows by the invited dance companies will also be offered, as well as those selected in the parallel call ‘Me, Myself & I’, aimed at works in solo format and in a state of initial creation.
In total there will be 12 choreographic projects that will compete this year and that can be seen in two sessions on Wednesday and Thursday.
The Madrid Choreographic Contest is a platform for creation and training for new works of contemporary dance that acts as a promoter of new choreographic projects, open to Spanish choreographers even if they reside abroad and to international choreographers who live and work in Spain.
