MSC Cruises has announced an increase in its capacity in Spain by 2024 specifically designed to meet the growing demands and preferences of Spanish customers, they say, with the commitment to offer unique and memorable experiences to its passengers, the company is boosting its presence in the Spanish market, responding to the growing demand experienced in recent years.
MSC Cruises currently has seven boarding ports in Spain, having considerably increased its presence in Spain since 2019, where it had three boarding ports (Valencia, Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca) to which Tarragona, Alicante, Málaga and Santa Cruz de Tenerife have now been added. This is one of the reasons why the company has become the leader in the Spanish market, having broken a record number this year in passenger volume.
One of the significant milestones that MSC Cruises has announced for 2024 is the increase in its capacity for next summer with seven ships leaving from Spanish ports. This initiative marks a historic milestone in the industry since it is the first time in history a shipping company will operate six ships with weekly departures from Spanish ports during the summer season. Four of these weekly cruises will be based in Barcelona and two will be departing from Valencia. Furthermore, every ten days, MSC Orchestra will depart from Malaga and Alicante.
In line with reinforcing the commitment to bring ships closer to Spanish passengers, MSC Cruises will have a service of comfortable direct flights to connect the main Spanish cities with 9 ships that will travel through the Eastern Mediterranean, the Greek Islands and Northern Europe. For MSC Armonia, MSC Splendida and MSC Lirica passengers, flights will depart from Madrid and Barcelona to board in Venice; and for those on MSC Sinfonia who will also board in Venice, they will be able to have direct flights from Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia. On the other hand, those passengers who board in Rome (Civitavecchia) aboard MSC Divina will be able to fly directly from Madrid, Barcelona and Malaga. While those who decide to take a cruise on MSC Opera from Bari will be able to enjoy direct flights from Madrid and Barcelona.
