The Second Section of the Provincial Court of the Balearic Islands holds the pre-trial hearing today against a waiter for allegedly sexually abusing a 15-year-old minor whom he invited to enter the bar where he worked to take refuge from the rain.
According to the prosecutor ‘s brief, the events occurred in a bar in Palma, where the accused, 58 years old, invited the minor to enter and, once inside, hugged her tightly to himself, kissing her on the neck, touching her intimately, and kissing her on the mouth.
The victim constantly resisted and managed to flee the scene. As a result of these events she suffered mental health problems and had to undergo psychiatric treatment.
The Public Ministry considers the facts constituting a crime of sexual abuse of a minor and requests for the defendant three and a half years in prison, another three years of supervised release and a restraining order for a period of five years.
Likewise, the Prosecutor’s Office has requested that he be disqualified from any profession or trade that involves contact with minors for ten years and that he compensates the victim in the amount of 4,000 euro.
