The Minister for Digital Transformation and the Civil Service, Óscar López, visited the Acelera Pyme Ingenierak Office in San Sebastián, located in the College of Industrial Engineers of Gipuzkoa. There he met with representatives of SMEs that benefited from the Kit Digital, a funding campaign to give companies vouchers towards improving their online presence and upgrading computer equipment.

López highlighted the role of Acelera Pyme in the dissemination of the successful Kit Digital programme, which subsidises the implementation of digital solutions in SMEs to facilitate their digital transformation, and which, according to the latest data, has involved an investment of more than 1.9 billion euro that has already reached 462,000 companies, more than 16,000 of them in the Basque Country for a total amount of 76 million euro. “I think this is a good example for society to see that European funds are reaching this country, specifically to modernise and digitalise the businesses of many SMEs and self-employed workers,” explained López.
