According to the latest report from the Ministry of the Interior, since the beginning of the year until September 15, 37,970 migrants have entered Spain by an irregular means, 49.1% more than in the same period in 2023. Of these, 35,882 have arrived by sea, 45.6% more than in 2023.
The Canary Islands account for 26,758 entries, 85.1% more than the previous year. Arrivals by sea to the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands reach 9,084, 9.3% less than in 2023.
Regarding land entries to Ceuta and Melilla, they amount to 2,088, 151.9% more than in 2023, of which 2,026 to Ceuta (182.6% more than the previous year) and 62 to Melilla (44.6% less).
