Popular Spanish news reader and journalist Concha García Campoy has died at the age of 54, after losing her long battle with leukaemia.
Having been diagnosed in 2011, it was on the 10th of January, 2012, that Concha announced on her Twitter account that she had leukaemia, undergoing treatment in June of that year.
Having worked on one of the principle news shows on Spanish TV, Concha became a household name and a reliable source of information for many during her career.
Her long time friend, Manuel Campo Vidal, tweeted this week that, “Concha García Campoy, my dear friend for 27 years, is in critical condition. Medicines have produced a hepatic coma”. It was just a few hours later that her tragic death was announced.
