No tickets matched all six numbers in yesterday’s Powerball lottery draw so the estimated jackpot for next Wednesday’s draw has grown to an estimated $235 million.
The winning numbers selected were 9, 23, 40, 53 and 58. The Powerball was 6.
One ticket in California matched four numbers and the Powerball and has won the lucky ticket holder a cool $53,216.
Four tickets sold nationally matched 5 out of 5 of the main balls but no Powerball. They are each worth $1 million. Those tickets were sold in Kansas, North Carolina, New Jersey and South Carolina.
Powerball is played in 43 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The jackpot starts at $40 million and climbs each time there is no winner. The largest ever Powerball jackpot on record was $590 million in May 2013.
