STAGE STRUCK

If you’re looking for a nice Christmassy story to curl up with over the holidays – Suzanne Stokes, founder of Dramatic Licence, has written the very thing. Her book Stage Struck is now available on Kindle. You can read the first chapters on Amazon, but briefly the story is about SADS, the Sipton Amateur Dramatic Society, whose members welcome Rose, a new, if somewhat reluctant recruit. Traumatised by a tragedy in her past, she hopes the make believe world of pantomime will help her overcome her nightmares.

But whose adultery threatens to blow the pantomime production apart? The leafy Home Counties village becomes a tinderbox of emotions, where relationships blossom offstage only to wilt under the harsh glare of betrayal, suspicion and unbridled passion.

Suzanne has been involved in amateur theatre all her adult life – so while writing the book she was able to draw on a wealth of experience. And to friends who might wonder if they’re woven into the story…she says they will have to read the book to find out!

Dramatic Licence has taken an enforced rest for a few months due to circumstances beyond their control. However, a new production, to be directed by Colin Bird is being planned for the Spring.
