The Royal British Legion Torrevieja Branch got the New Year off to a flying start with a burns night supper held at Coopers Arms.
They piped in the haggis and addressed it to the guests, then after a splendid meal there was dancing until midnight to the music of Andy Jones.
This is a very exciting year for the Torrevieja branch as it is their 25th anniversary of their opening, they are the oldest branch in Spain and they are going to celebrate with a special anniversary dinner and dance in April. There will also be celebrations for the anniversary of ww1 in June. – so watch this space.!
We would be happy to meet any potential new members or returning members at our normal branch meeting held at the Casa Ventura on the second Friday of the month. We gather at 6.30pm and our meeting begins at 7pm, and following the proceedings we have entertainment, a raffle and food that you can order at the bar on your arrival. Please note you do not have to have been a member of the services to join us, so please come along and learn more about what we do here in Spain to help the legion
We also have the Legionnaires Bowls Group connected to our branch. They bowl at the Casa Ventura every Thursday and Saturday afternoon, meeting at 1.30 for 2pm start .
