The autonomous communities have notified the Ministry of Health that, until May 20, they have carried out a total of 42,846,660 diagnostic tests. Of these, 31,853,049 are PCR and 10,993,611 are antigen tests.
In the last week, from May 14 to 20, the autonomous communities have carried out a total of 482,764, an average of 68,966 PCR per day.
In addition, from May 14 to 20, the autonomous communities have carried out a total of 259,355 antigen tests (37,050 on average per day). Added to the PCR performed, they represent a total of 742,119 diagnostic tests performed in this period, 106,017 per day. Thus, the number of diagnostic tests performed increased by 2%, with a rate of 909.69 per 1,000 inhabitants.
Progressively, new techniques are being developed for the diagnosis of SARS-Cov2 infection, such as the rapid antigen tests that the Health Departments are beginning to introduce in the management of the pandemic.
