According to the latest now fortnightly report from the Valencia Ministry of Universal Health and Public Health, a total of 1,590 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed by PCR test or through antigen tests since the last update on May 19. It should be noted however that only a small portion of the population are now tested.

This figure is an increase compared to the 1,258 cases notified in the last update for the two weeks leading up to 19 May 2023.

The new cases by provinces are 228 in Castellón (197,942 in total), 606 in Alicante (539,261 in total) and 756 in Valencia (859,665 in total).

Of these, 935 are people over 60 years of age. By provinces: 142 from Castellón, 374 from Alicante and 419 from Valencia.

Valencian hospitals currently have 165 people admitted, 8 of them in the ICU: 17 in the province of Castellón, 1 in the ICU; 55 in the province of Alicante, 2 in the UCI, and 93 in the province of Valencia, 5 in the UCI.

13 coronavirus deaths have been reported since the last update, all with a death date in the last 14 days. They are 7 women, between 73 and 98 years old, and 6 men, between 62 and 86 years old. The total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic amounts to 10,536: 1,280 in the province of Castellón, 3,987 in Alicante and 5,269 in Valencia. In the Alicante province, 6 deaths from Covid were recorded, double the figure from 2 weeks ago, and with the exception of the total on 5 May, which was the same, the highest death toll since March.

In the last update from 2 weeks ago, the death toll across Valencia was an additional 10, so this is also an increase.
