According to the latest report from the State Meteorological Association, Aemet, the national average value of accumulated rainfall from the beginning of the hydrological year (October 1, 2022) to June 27 is estimated at 471 l/m 2, which represents around 15% less than the normal value corresponding to said period (551 l/m 2).
The accumulated amounts are below their normal values in a large part of the Peninsula and the archipelagos, highlighting the northeast and southwest quadrants of the peninsula and most of the Canary Islands does not reach 75% of the normal value.
Rainfall exceeded the normal values for the period 1991-2020, mainly in certain areas of Galicia, in the western half of Castilla y León, Cáceres, the coast of Almería or the interior of Teruel.
