Decathlon baby float withdrawn due to drowning risk
Decathlon has announced the withdrawal from the market of a Nabaiji brand inflatable float for babies with integrated harness after detecting that there is a risk of tipping over for the child and, therefore, of drowning.
The statement indicates that this item with codes 8752138, 8752140 and 8752139 has been marketed between February 1 and June 23, 2023. The company reports that if the float turns over, there is a risk of drowning as the baby is tied to the float and his head could remain underwater without having the possibility of returning to the correct position.
Decathlon assure that “although our product must be used under the supervision of parents, we do not want there to be any risk to the safety of the child and, as a precaution, we have decided to withdraw all affected products.” The affected product has been marketed in three colours: red, green and pink.
The chain of French origin invites users who have purchased this float to go to their nearest store where they will refund the money for the product.
Decathlon’s free customer service telephone number, 900 100 903, is available from Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
