The first section of the Provincial Court of A Coruña will hear evidence from today, Tuesday, against the former PP mayor of the municipality of Ponteceso between May 1993 and May 2015, José Luis Fondo, for alleged administrative prevarication and fraud against a public entity.
The Prosecutor’s Office maintains that during its mandate, in particular, between the years 2012 and 2015, the council “was permanently forced to adjust its budget allocation since, even when some exercise yielded positive results, it was common to generate numerous obligations”.
“With the consequent damage that this caused to the municipal coffers due to the lack of adequate credit, available and in sufficient amounts,” continues the Prosecutor.
He also adds that despite this, the accused, “fully aware of the financial situation”, issued rulings in 2014 and 2014, “in which he declared, knowing of their illegality by the company ‘Construcciones ES SL’, of services and works in which the contracting regulations were not complied with”.
The Prosecutor’s Office requests four years and six months in prison for the former mayor and the same sentence for the other defendant, responsible for the company, as a necessary cooperator.
