The new judicial headquarters of the Badajoz Courts will begin to be operational from today, Monday, with a first transfer of the Juvenile Court, the Violence Against Women Court and the Court of First Instance number 5 which houses the jurisdiction of the Civil Registry.
Likewise, on November 1, the Guard Court will begin to provide service in the new building, located at 2 José Caldito Street, and the following day, November 2, the rest of the judicial bodies will be located and operational, in total 24 courts that make up the judicial district of Badajoz.
The new judicial headquarters, located on calle José Caldito in the capital of Badajoz and which has involved an investment of almost 26 million euro, occupies an area of ​​more than 17,000 square metres and will house the 24 courts of the different jurisdictional orders existing in the city, the Prosecutor’s Office and the Civil Registry.
It also has 14 court rooms, 23 statement rooms and multipurpose rooms, spaces for victim assistance, Gesell rooms and a pre-constituted evidence room; and has reserve spaces that will allow it to absorb growth in the judicial plant. Regarding personal resources, the building will house 24 regular magistrates, 28 lawyers from the Administration of Justice and 249 officials, including managers, processors, and assistants.
