Child sexual assault cases in Valencia

The trial is scheduled from today in the Provincial Court of Valencia against a man accused of sexually assaulting a minor during a school visit to the Valencian Cortes building, located in the centre of the city of Valencia.

The Prosecutor’s Office maintains that the incident occurred on October 13, 2022, when the person accused of these events was acting as a guide during said visit, as reported by the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community (TSJCV).

According to this information, the man would have taken advantage of the fact that the head teacher was addressing his students to grab the victim by the waist and supposedly touch her buttocks.

The minor was 14 years old at the time of the events, according to this information.

For these facts, the public prosecution initially requests a four-year prison sentence for the crime of sexual assault of a minor.

Meanwhile, the Prosecutor’s Office is initially requesting a nine-year prison sentence for a crime of sexual abuse of a minor for a man whom it accuses of subjecting a girl, who was 10 at the time, to touching and other sexual practices, as reported by the TSJCV.

The public accusation maintains that the defendant, who was 25 years old, took advantage of the trust that the girl had in him, as he was the son of the teachers of an extracurricular activity at the Valencia school that the minor attended, to abuse her when they met in the locker room.

The minor suffered psychological injuries as a result of the events, which took 242 days to heal.

The minor’s parents filed a complaint on June 28, 2019.
