The online psychic ‘Biciri’, a Guinean citizen identified by the initials LM, presumably didn´t predict the sentence of twenty-one months in prison for a continued crime of fraud committed against a resident of Valladolid from whom he ‘extorted’ 26,000 euro for performing a ritual whose purpose was to save the victim’s marriage.
The sentence was agreed between the false psychic and the prosecutor of the case minutes before the trial scheduled for this Monday in the Criminal Court number 2 of Valladolid, where ‘Biciri’ has shared the bench with two other people involved in the scam, a woman of Spanish nationality with the initials T. de JN and another man, also a Guinean.
The latter two have also reached an agreement with the public prosecution after admitting their participation in the same crime, the woman as a necessary cooperator and the other accused as an accomplice, with sentences of twenty-one months – the same as accepted by the main defendant – and five months and twenty-nine days in prison, respectively.
In terms of civil liability, the first two convicted, LM and T. de JN, have agreed to compensate the defrauded woman, jointly and in comfortable instalments, with 23,500 euro and the third person involved with another 2,500, hence the prosecutor of the case has ruled in favour of suspending the the sentence, provided that the agreed amounts are paid, as reflected by sources of the case.
The Valladolid Prosecutor’s Office provisionally requested a total of two and a half years in prison for the psychic and his accomplice, while the other faced a sentence of fifteen months.
The events, acknowledged by those already convicted, date back to the end of 2021 when the victim, a woman who at that time was going through a difficult marital situation, located a website of the psychic ‘Biciri’ on the internet and contacted him, considering that it was the last straw to hold on to in order to try to save her relationship.
The fake psychic agreed to help her in exchange for a fixed price of 375 euro and small financial contributions throughout the process. The first payment, an advance of 200 euro, was made on March 25, 2021 via transfer to an account held by the psychic.
The next day, ‘Biciri’ explained to the woman that to perform the relevant rituals he needed black and white crocodile blood, which he finally agreed to buy for a price of 640 euro, of which the victim paid 500 euro into the same account that same day.
Days later, the psychic told the woman that to continue with the process she had to put 1,000 euro for each year of her husband’s age and 500 for each year of her age into two glass jars, and then mix them together.
Unable to get so much money, the client finally put 9,000 euro in one jar and 7,000 in another, amounts that the scammer kept, although later the psychic warned the woman that someone had done black magic on her and charged her another 7,000 euro in separate payments of 3,500 euro each.
The last amount claimed by ‘Biciri’ and paid by the complainant, 2,500 euro, was intended to cover the costs of purchasing two cows that had to be sacrificed in order to carry out a final job to counteract black magic.
