The Martorell-based automotive brand CUPRA has officially opened orders for its updated Tavascan range, introducing a more affordable entry-level version, an exclusive Black Edition trim, and significant upgrades to its onboard safety and digital technology.

New powertrains and pricing structure
The expansion introduces a new rear-motor entry-level option delivering 140 kW (190 hp) paired with a 58 kWh net capacity battery. This version offers a combined range of up to 441 kilometres. With brand discounts applied, the entry version is priced at 34,830 euro, which drops to 31,455 euro when including the state aid from the Plan Auto+ scheme.
Above this sits the Endurance variant, featuring a rear-wheel-drive setup producing 210 kW (286 hp) and a 77 kWh battery that yields a range of up to 557 kilometres. The new Endurance Adrenaline Black Edition is available for 44,260 euro with brand discounts, or 40,885 euro with the additional Plan Auto+ government assistance. The top-tier Tavascan VZ features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system delivering 250 kW (340 hp), a maximum torque of 545 Nm, and an acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds.
Both the 58 kWh battery (using LFP chemistry) and the 77 kWh battery (using NMC chemistry) support direct current fast charging at maximum capacities of 105 kW and 135 kW respectively, allowing a 10 to 80 per cent charge in under half an hour. Production for the updated line-up is scheduled to begin this summer.
Enhanced driving technology and safety systems
From a driving dynamics and road safety perspective, the updated Tavascan introduces several notable technological advancements. The vehicle now features One Pedal Driving, allowing drivers to manage acceleration and braking regeneration using only the accelerator pedal, which can bring the car to a complete stop in urban traffic while minimizing brake wear. A physical-button steering wheel replaces previous touch surfaces to improve operational precision during transit, and a standard Launch Control system is now equipped on the Endurance and VZ models.
The Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) have received comprehensive updates:
- Travel Assist 3.0: Utilising cloud-based data to enhance longitudinal control, this system actively identifies speed bumps, traffic lights, and pedestrian crossings while automatically adjusting speeds for upcoming curves. It works in unison with Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Assist to keep the vehicle safely centered.
- Emergency Assist 3.6: This safety feature can autonomously guide the vehicle to the right-hand lane or a secure area and bring the car to a complete stop if driver inactivity is detected.
- Driver Distraction Detection: A dedicated monitoring system tracks driver attentiveness and functions even when the driver is wearing sunglasses.
- Parking Assistance: The Reversing Park Assist system now features a memorised parking function capable of automatically executing learned maneuvers of up to 50 metres in private spaces or community garages. This is complemented by Remote Park Assist, which permits vehicle control via a smartphone, and a 360-degree Top View Camera.
Interior and design changes
The premium Black Edition package, exclusive to the Adrenaline trim for the Endurance and VZ engines, introduces a Midnight Black exterior accompanied by high-gloss dark accents on the bumpers, mirrors, and side skirts, alongside 21-inch matte black Katla alloy wheels. Inside, it features Fusion Metal accents and sustainable Dinámica fabric Bucket seats in Black Soul.
Across the entire range, the cabin receives a larger 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit instrument cluster alongside a standard 15-inch central infotainment screen running an Android-based operating system. The update also integrates bi-directional Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) alternating current charging capabilities, allowing the vehicle to supply electricity to external devices, and a beta version of the Mobile Device Key for smartphone-based entry and vehicle starting.
