The Police have arrested a 40 year old man in Berga, Barcelona, for allegedly extorting children via Facebook to get sexual images of them, to which he has had at least twelve crimes of corruption of minors and child pornography attributed to him.

The arrested man has been named as Marzouk EK, a Moroccan, arrested on March 21st for allegedly creating a fake profile, with names and photographs of a girl, with which he deceived victims, all between 11 and 15 years of age.

After becoming their virtual friend, he is said to have won their confidence enough to ask scantily clad or naked photos of his victims, and asked them to masturbate with the webcam and carry out other sexual actions and, if they refused, he threatened to post the images they had previously sent.

The police did not rule that may be more victims, as the fictitious profile had 118 friends, almost all children, and at his home they found a hard disk which allegedly contained pornographic material and a number of emails and passwords.

The detainee went to court on the 24th and the judge ordered his release with pending charges and a ban on contact with minors and access to social networks.
