The Cruz Roja have launched their eleventh campaign for summer safety awareness, entitled “Este verano quiérete mucho”, in which around 20 celebrities join in a catchy summer song offering memorable words of the basic protection from the sun.
The campaign consists of a complete program of recommendations, focusing in particular on the risks of sun, water, and the importance of preserving the environment. Statistics show that only 29% of the world´s population uses sunscreen and 7 of 10 Spaniards are not properly protected, either because they don´t choose a quality sunscreen, fail to reapply the cream enough or do not use the right amount.
This campaign differs slightly from previous ones as they aim to reach a wider audience, on the beaches and cities, with training activities, and on the Internet, via the video which they hope will go viral.
The Cruz Roja will travel around Spanish cities during the summer, offering workshops of first aid and health, as well as brochures and bookmarks with key prevention tips.
The star of the video features a Cruz Roja lifeguard, “tired” of repeating the same advice every summer; he decides to record a video, where he invites his celebrity friends to sing with him. Genoveva Casanova, Gala González, Amelia Bono, Fonsi Nieto, Jose Manuel Calderón, Fernando Tejero, Lucía Gil, Laura Sánchez, Pignoise, Soraya, Leyre de La Oreja de Van Gogh, Nena Daconte, Maxim Huerta, Vega, Christian Gálvez, Pedro Piqueras, Patricia Pérez, Raul Gómez and Susanna Griso are the celebrities involved, which they hope will reach a wide range of ages and supporters in order to boost the campaign this year in a positive and cheerful way.
