The judge presiding over the case of José Bretón, found guilty of killing his two young children, has sentenced him to 40 years in prison for the aggravated murder of Ruth and José on October the 8th, 2011 in Córdoba, a penalty which matches the request of the prosecution.
The cause of death of the two children can now be officially recorded, with the Judge authorising the release of their remains for burial.
The sentence was presented ten days after the seven women and two men on the jury issued their verdict, in one of the highest profile cases in Spain´s recent histroy, after three days of deliberation, unanimously considering the defendant, José Bretón, guilty of murder.
