The regional government of Murcia will carry out checks on compliance of seismic regulations for new construction and rehabilitation projects in earthquake hit Lorca, with certificates being issued to those who meet the required standard.
The government has developed technical guides on construction, repair and emergency action principles, which can serve as a technical reference manual to the possible occurrence of new earthquakes, which can be downloaded from the government´s website. They have also organized various workshops aimed at professionals, in order to explain and promote good practices and compliance with the recommendations of the publications.
The Director General of Planning and Housing, Yolanda Muñoz, issued a statement saying that all owners, promoters and technicians who would like to, can request full supervision of their work projects free of charge.
