LA VILA BEGIN WITH AN AWAY WIN AT BARCELONA
La VIla made the perfect start to the new league season with a convincing away win over BUC BARCELONA on Saturday 12 October.
After travelling all morning to get to the ground, due to economic problems at the club still awaiting resolution, the “Vileros” arrived to face BUC BARCELONA, in what turned out to be a hard fought contest for the Alicantinos, despite the final scoreline suggesting otherwise.
The La Vila try scorers were Welshman Henry Davies who crossed twice, as well as Matias Lambloglia, Lucas Poggi and Nacho Luque. It was a good display from La Vila, who executed their game plan well, and showed great communication and understanding between the forwards and the backs.
Next Sunday 20 October La Vila will take on TECNIDEX VALENCIA at the Villajoyosa Stadium at 12.30, in the first local derby of the season.
Entry is just 5 euros, free to under 18s, with drinks and food available to buy at the ground.
Final score: 12 October 2013, Estadio La Fuxarda, Montjuich, Barcelona
BUC BARCELONA 5 LA VILA 38
The Vila team:
Jorge Ruiz, Ivan Ruiz, Javier Miadosqui, Paco Martinez, Rodrigo Lacoste, Bruno Villalba, Guillem Carrion, Henry Davies, Alberto Jimenez, Nacho Luque, Marcos Marin, Juan Quintero, Matias Lamboglia, Ivan Agudo, Lucas Poggi
Subs: Fran Perona, Rom Ramson, Robert Rumania, Nacho Peruyero, Hernan Quirelli, Gonzalo Fernandez Y Miguel Angel Coronel
In other news, the La Vila Ladies lost in a friendly against Alicante University. The Vileros were under strength with fewer players and no replacements against strong opposition, but were happy to give new squad members a chance to take to the field before the start of the new season.
