"Elche Club de Fútbol could face sanctions from the Spanish Football Association following an alleged incident of racial abuse during their game with Granada on Saturday evening.
Visiting defender Allan Nyom, a French international of Cameroonian descent, complained to referee Carlos del Cerro Grande after being subjected to monkey chants from a section of the ground housing home fans towards the end of the encounter which Elche lost 0-1.
In line with established protocol, the game was briefly stopped while a public announcement was made requesting those responsible desist.
The matter was mentioned in the Madrid official’s match report and now rests with the governing body. At the time of the incident Nyom, 25, was yellow carded for angrily kicking the ball towards the spectators"
