CALL OF DUTY: GHOSTS
Call of Duty: Ghosts has finally been released and the latest reviews of the blockbuster game have divided critics. Some absolutely love the new multiplayer functions whilst others are not so enamoured and believe that the new plot is simply too dumb to enjoy.
Gaming fans have been logging on all day in order to enjoy the latest blockbuster.
So what have players and reviewers been saying about the new game?
The Daily Telegraph agreed that the multiplayer function was impressive and wrote:
“It’s time Call of Duty learned to embrace its innate silliness. It’s thoroughly stupid at times and gloriously so. […] It’s a blend of familiar set-pieces and a story told almost exclusively in hoarse shouts and gruff whispers.” 4/5
IGN enjoyed the game and gave it a very positive review:
“Ghosts takes on a refreshingly unique premise. […] The variety of environments keeps the campaign fresh, not only in terms of visuals, but in gameplay as well. The robust multiplayer gameplay, surprisingly fun co-op modes, and lengthy, challenging, and varied campaign makes Ghosts one of the best Call of Duty games to date.” 8.8/10
Eurogamer said of the game:
“In lifting so blatantly from such a famous scene in a recent popular movie, it offers us a glimpse at the desperate emptiness that can so easily creep into a series when annual updates require a constant stream of wow moments. […] When COD’s cheeseball formula clicks, it’s still capable of being devilishly entertaining, the closest gaming comes to the guilty pleasure of a 1980s action movie.” 7/10
And CVG were also impressed with the multi-player game:
“The action here moves from tense subterfuge to pitched gun battles and back again with an impressive subtlety. […] Infinity Ward has built on the legacy of the Modern Warfare series of games.” 7/10
