First year-on-year fall in unemployment in October since 2007

05/11/2013. Recorded unemployment rose by 87,028 on the previous month to stand at 4,811,383. The year-on-year rate posted a decrease of 0.46%, compared with an increase of close to 13% in May 2012. Seasonally-adjusted unemployment fell for the third consecutive month. To date in 2013, recorded unemployment has fallen by 37,340 – the largest accumulated drop since 2006.
