The President of Aeromur, Patricio Valverde, has this week confirmed that the company are in negotiations with the banking sector in order to secure funding through a loan, ahead of the opening of the new Murcia International Airport at Corvera, despite the regional government withdrawing the concession for breach of contract.
According to Valverde, if they are successful in reaching an agreement, the equity loan would be repaid once the airport is profitable, which is expected to be in the “early years” following the opening.
Valverde also referred to the progress of the negotiations being held with the regional government relating to the opening of the airport, saying that the final agreement depends on the decision of the banks on the equity loan.
“Once we open the airport, we will negotiate to see how to return the money”, Valverde concluded.
