CHARITY GOLF DAY

CLUB25 members and guests held a CHARITY GOLF DAY in November 2013 to raise much needed funds for MABS Cancer Charity – who provided fantastic support to CLUB25 member Bernie Waspe whose wife Carole tragically succumbed to cancer in 2013.

Thanks to efforts of the organisers Roy Baker, Tracy Ackers, Dave Williams and Peter Hutton and Luke Murphy – a fantastic day saw a round of golf in the sunshine followed by buffet and drinks with raffles and auctions, we raised a total of €1,810 for the MABS Cancer charity.

CLUB25 GOLF were given fantastic support from members, ST Javier Golf Society and El Valle Golf Society on the day, plus many who donated prizes including members and especially the sponsors at the Great Golf Company Balsicas and Galaxy Golf at Campoamor.

Janet Bell (in photo) with Wendy Grant, from MABS, who are responsible for fund raising, joined us at Mar Menor to receive the proceeds. They were very impressed and thanked Club 25 Golf for a superb fund raising efforts.

Bernie Waspe also expressed his warm thanks and gratitude for or all the MABS support and help throughout Carole’s illness, providing respite, without which he would have been struggling to cope.

Most Club25 members have joined the 6 IRM Global Golf Courses here in beautiful Murcia – La Torre, El Valle, Hacienda de Riquelme, Condado Alhama, Mar Menor and Saurines Courses. Club 25 Golf play every Wednesday and Sunday at one of the 6 IRM golf courses. We have members from many countries including Sweden, Belgium, Eire, UK and even a French American! Our members are a mix of Spanish residents and overseas visitors.
