A local police officer who stabbed a former director of Bankia last May, after investing 370,000 euro in preference, was found dead in his prison cell Albocāsser (Castellón) hours before Christmas Eve.
The officer, whose body was found by other inmates, was in custody awaiting trial since October and had been included in a suicide prevention program after an attempt to take his own life shortly after entering prison.
The incident occurred in May, when the local police officer was arrested after stabbing the banker four times at the home of the former banker in the Valencia town of Paterna.
The officer had been on sick leave for depression.
