A two vehicle crash in heavy hail near Pontevedra resulted in a chain of collisions including a car smashing into a Guardia Civil vehicle at the scene.
Two vehicles had collided on the A-52 on the border of the provinces of Pontevedra and Ourense where hail storms were recorded. That collision resulted in the occupants of both vehicles suffering minor injuries.
A Guardia Civil patrol attended the scene and officers were taking statements in the back of their multi-purpose, van like vehicle.
A car travelling along the same road then crashed into the Guardia Civil vehicle, in which the original injured victims and officers were.
As a result two officers were also slightly injured by the impact, one of whom was transferred to a medical centre for attention.
