Rosario Martínez Chazarra, the Councillor for Education, last Monday presented 253 Torrevieja families with Assistance for School Transport for the remainder of the 2012/13 School Year.
Specifically 117 grants were for students in public schools in the city, while the remainder, for the second consecutive year, was for students of Colegio la Purísima de Torrevieja.
The total amount of aid delivered amounted to 46,424 euros.
Those benefitting for the grants are entitled because of special family circumstances (single parents, disabilities, unemployed or total family income below IPREM, the Public Indicator of Multiple Effect Income, an index used in Spain as a reference to the granting of aid, grants or subsidies.
