The town hall team of Santa Pola has finally secured investment to carry out maintenance work on the bridge over the N-332 which connects the urbanisation of Gran Alacant to the road network.
A budget of 532,436 euro allocation was unanimously approved by the government team, which will go towards the much needed work.
The work is likely to commence in September, after the summer rush, as the councillor for works, Loreto Serrano explained, “the work is expected in the autumn, once traffic has dropped”, as to do the work in summer would be of “maximum inconvenience” for road users.
It was in June of last year that the government unanimously agreed to conduct a study into the costs for the work, which will now not only become a reality by the end of the year, the budget is 60,000 euro less than the original estimate.
Serrano continued to explain that “The project will be built with funds from the City of Santa Pola, fulfilling the election commitment that the council had with the citizens”.
