A woman, said to be 39 years of age, has been found dead in her home in the Orihuela town of Capuchinos, having apparently suffered head injuries.
Security services report that the woman lived with her 37 year old male partner.
The discovery was made after the man´s sister reported having not been in contact with the woman, and she was looking after their child, as had been the case for a few days. Upon apparently making contact with the man, the sister was told, “I am doing what I have to do”.
Out of concern, the sister contacted the 112 emergency coordination centre. The local police attended and discovered the lifeless body of the woman at the home, with apparent blows to the head.
The National Police then attended and took over the investigation, their first action being the launching of established protocol to locate the male partner, who is native of the city Murcia.
The town hall of Orihuela has called for a gathering outside the city hall on Tuesday, welcoming all citizens, neighbourhood groups and association, where a three minutes silence will be held at 11:00 in the morning as a mark of respect and protest over the death.
