Two officers from the National Police based in Orihuela have been credited with saving the life of a man who fell down a grid in the town of Beniel.
The officers were on a routine patrol when they became aware of a vehicle parked near the side of the road.
When they approached the vehicle a woman notified them that her boyfriend had fallen down the open grid channel and couldn´t escape.
The officers found the man in 3 metres of water, struggling to stay afloat, and managed to rescue him from the ordeal that could have easily had fatal consequences.
