Tragic Death in Torrevieja
An investigation has been launched by the Guardia Civil into the circumstances surrounding the death of a ten year old child in Torrevieja on Monday.
The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning in a residential area of the city, when emergency services were called to attend a home, finding the child having apparently been stabbed.
The initial reports suggest that the victim died as a result of stab injuries and that the partner of his 49 year old Spanish mother was the perpetrator of the death.
Attending officers from the Guardia Civil found the man to have also suffered knife wounds, believed to have been self inflicted. He was taken to hospital where he remained under guard awaiting questioning once consciousness is regained.
The Valencia courts confirmed that the man has a history of domestic violence.
