The Ladies of the League gathered at The Sports Bar’s Function room in Play Flamenca, Orihuela Costa for their Annual Presentation Dinner.

The Presentation commenced with special gifts for Jose Colettas Hernandez, Paco gonzalez diaz and Geoff Lloyd, along with flowers for their wives and Ann McGivern & Ann Bartlett, in recognition of their services to the League. This was followed by the presentation of Flowers to the Captains, in recognition of the work they also do for the League.

This was followed by the New Player awards: League Badges for Ellie Kearns, 100+ Certificates for Val Millar, Sam Billingham, Mimi Ruiz Serrano, Norma Bennett and Sheila Lewis. Certificates and badges for Groa Ingradottir, Ana Clavijo, Sheerin Mohammed, Carol Hurlby, Sheelah Cooper, Karen Christopher,
Vi Turner, Mags Bergan, Tracey Simpson, Gail Todd, Simone de Lacy, Bliss Wright, Elaine Willis, Cynthia Jevons and Gail Murray.

Other Awards;180 to Irene Russell, 171’s Elaine Willis and High Ton (151+) Shirley Stephenson. Bull Finish for Kim Fickle Pamela Taylor, Cynthia Jevons, and Margaret Morris. The Highest Checkout went to Cynthia Jevons..

A new award for achieving 140 went to Mags Bergan, Cynthia Jevons, Sue Casey, Chris Greenwood, Ann Wharton. Ana Clavijo, Bliss Wright, Yvonne McIntosh, Irene Russell, Lin Cousins, Karen Christopher, Margaret Boden, Pam Horton and Joy Don.

The Most Improved Player on the Team: for Friendly’s Temps was Margaret Morris, Dave’s Babes was Ann McGivern , El Balcon Chicas was Shirley Ward and Wildcats was Martelle Cheater. The Most Improved Player Overall was Christine Simmonds.

The Most 100+ on the Team: Black Dog Ladies was Caroline Shepherd, Friendly’s Temps – Ann Wharton, Dave’s Babes – Ann McGivern, Gogarty’s Gals – Simone de Lacy, the Primadonnas – Ana Clavijo and the Wildcats – Pam Horton. The Most100+ Overall was Jane Costello.

The Most Games Won on the Team: for the Black Dog Ladies was Caroline Shepherd, and Friendly’s Temps – Ann Wharton, Dave’s Babes – Joy Don, El Balcon Chicas – Jane Costello. Gogarty’s Gals – Simone de Lacy and Primadonnas – Groa Ingradottir. The Most Games won Overall – Pam Horton.

The Player of the Year is Jane Costello.

Ladies Pairs: Champions: Shirley Stephenson & Sue Casey, Runners-up: Groa Ingradottir & Jackie Tomkinson. Joint Third: Gail Todd & Cynthia Jevons and June Howarth & Kath Walker.

Ladies Singles: Champion: Cynthia Jevons, Runner Up Shirley Stephenson, Joint 3rd Christine Simmonds and Maz Jackson – 5th to 7th Elaine Willis, Sam Billingham, Shirley Ward and Chris Greenwood.

The Players Team of the Year went to the Black Dog Ladies.

The Geoff Lloyd Knockout Shield Champions Gogarty’s Gals, and Runners-Up Dave’s Babes.

The Founder’s Shield Champions: Gogarty’s Girls, Runners-Up: El Balcon Chicas and 3rd Place The Wildcats. The Wooden Spoon went to the BlackDog Ladies.

League Champions El Balcon Chicas, Runners-Up Gogarty’s Gals, 3rd Place Primadonnas and the Wooden Spoon went to Friendly’s Temps.

New Season 2015 – 2016

New teams need to get their Registration Form with photos and their Venue Form completed, along with the Fee by the 31st August 2015. Existing Teams have until the 5th September 2015 to complete their renewals.

Bars interested in having a Ladies Team, should contact the coordinator (below) as soon as possible for information. Any Ladies interested in playing Ladies Darts, or joining a team for the night out, you might even run the raffle or collect subs; please give me a ring (or email) and I will put you in touch with your nearest Team.

2015 A.G.M.

Tomorrow, Tuesday 26th May the A.G.M. will be held at El Balcon, in Los Balconies at the round up time of 20.00 hours for 20.30 start. Please do your best to attend this important meeting. Thank you.
