Guardamar’s ‘El Campico’ market continues to open despite a warning from a rival market manager that he will denounce the Municipal Council for violating a judgment of the Superior Tribunal of Justice (TSJ) in that it has been operating without a license for over 20 years.
He alleges that the market, which is located on rural land, is operating outside the law, and does not have permission to trade. This follows judgments in 2010 ordering its cessation.
The manager, who did not wish to be identified to the press, is said to have filed a brief asking the City Council to take appropriate measures ordering its closure following the ruling of the Supreme Court.
He says that such businesses operating without a license, harms other markets in the region that do have operating permits and are trading legally.
