Airport Strikes Continue
Wednesday marks the second strike by Spanish air traffic controllers, who will down tools for two hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon, in protest of the treatment of their colleagues in a previous industrial dispute.
The fist of the stoppages was on Monday, although 70% of all flights were unaffected by the action. At Alicante-Elche airport the most significant delay was for 3 hours on a Munich bound flight, but this was not attributed to the strike. Other delays were up to 40 minutes but only on a handful of flights.
The strike will continue on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday this week, between 10:00 and 12:00 and 18:00 to 20:00.
