Seven Roads Deaths This Weekend

In the provisional count by the DGT between 15:00 on Friday and 20:00 on Sunday, seven people have lost their lives on the roads of Spain.

There have also been a number of incidents which have resulted in a variety of injuries, and some dramatic images from the scenes.

A bus caught fire on the M-40 in Madrid on Friday, although there were luckily no injuries as a result.

On Friday evening, fire fighters had to extract the occupants of two cars which collided at a junction in Madrid. Both drivers were taken to hospital for treatment whilst the police in Madrid are investigating the incident.

A van crashed through the wall of a house in Callosa de Segura, destroying most of the wall, but there were no reported injuries in the dramatic smash.

Two women, aged 83 and 93, were killed, and two others, aged 42 and 15, were injured, in a crash in Albacete on Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred at 16:30 at kilometre 464 of the N-430 when the vehicle they were travelling in overturned.

On Saturday, a 34 year old motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a car in Pamplona. A motorcyclist was killed on Saturday evening at Galve de Sorbe in Guadalajara.

On Sunday, an airport bus crashed into the terminal building at the airport on the island of Gran Canaria, with medical staff treating a number of people for injuries.

A 70 year old was killed and two others injured when the driver of a car lost control in Tardobispo, Zamora, and crashed into the terrace of a pub where numerous people were sat enjoying the Sunday sunshine.
