UK Marijuana Network Disbanded

In a joint operation between the National Police and Guardia Civil, eight people have been arrested on suspicion of being part of a criminal network that would cultivate and distribute marijuana on a large scale mainly through the UK and Switzerland.

House searches were conducted in Málaga, Estepona, Marbella and San Pedro de Alcántara, seizing 2,638 marijuana plants, two luxury cars, 10,000 euro in cash, a banknote counting machine, several computers and effects for the cultivation and processing of marijuana.

The Marbella plantation, which was run by the 68 year old head of the gang, contained 3,509 plants and there was 88.5 kilos of packaged marijuana ready for distribution.
