Orihuela Motorway to be Widened

The Spanish Ministry of Development has published details of formal plans to widen the A-7 motorway to three lanes between kilometres 741 and 757 through the Alicante province.

The route runs through the mountainous region near to Orihuela on the section that links Benferri, Monteagudo and Fortuna with Orihuela.

The 14 kilometre section has a budget of 84.2 million euro and is a road which is frequently used my heavy goods vehicles and tourist traffic due to the importance of the networks linked.

The widening scheme will extend the current path of the road where most of the infrastructure is already in place.
