Man drowns in Almeria

A man in his 30´s, said to be of foreign nationality. drowned whilst swimming off the beach of playa de Las Negras en Níjar (Almería), according to sources with the Emergency Services of Andalusia.

The accident occurred about 17:20 on Saturday, at which time when a companion of the victim alerted the emergency services that the man could not get out of the water. Officers from the Guardia Civil, Local Police, health services, coastguard and Civil Protection all attended but could do nothing to save the man who had already been brought to the shore.
