Guardamar’s Plea for Water to Irrigate Local Green Areas

Guardamar council is to ask the Confederación Hidrográfica del Segura (CHS) to provide up to 100 thousand cubic metres of water from the local treatment plant, which would be used to irrigate the green areas of the municipality, as well used in streets cleaning.

Nearly 22 hectares of green space would be served if the request is accepted, including an area by the castle which has lost vegetation in recent years due to the drought conditions. The council says the move would save them money and be a good use of recycled water.
